Online Early Storytelling
Reading aloud is a joyful and effective opportunity to advance language skills and we strive to cultivate healthy reading habits in children. We read diverse books in varied settings, aimed to connect children to the world around them. Books covered during the unit are created by various award winning authors and illustrators.

Learning Outcomes

Theme-based Learning
Every month, we read books in themes to allow for deeper learning on a certain topic. There are 8+ books introduced per theme. Research has shown that repetition will strengthen your child’s comprehension of words and ideas.

Vocabulary
Studies have found that storybooks contain more rare words than TV and even the conversations of college students. Students develop bountiful vocabulary during our read alouds and while also building their grammar naturally.

Pronounciation
All teachers are native English speakers. Students will repeat phrases after the teacher and this shadowing will help your child with pronunciation and articulation. Teachers guide older students to improve their expression and intonation.

Social Interaction
Our class size hits a sweet spot. Research has shown that groups of 3-4 is an optimal size where students get to see their friends and share their ideas with peers while still receiving high quality interactions from their teachers. Students practice raising hands being active listeners.

Comprehension
For a more in depth understanding of the stories, teachers review certain books and the pre-recorded lessons retell the stories. Each pass through the text or illustrations allows students to dive deeper into the story’s meaning, preparing them for more complex narratives down the road.

Phonics
Our pre-recorded lessons are designed to be enjoyable while educational. Younger students will learn the appropriate sizes, shapes, and sounds of letters. Older students will learn the spelling of new words, helpful phonics rules, and how to write in complete sentences.
