Video Summary

This book is about a poor, old couple who find a magic pot in their garden. Mrs. Haktak reaches in the pot to retrieve her hair pin and coin purse, but surprisingly, she pulls out two of each! Amazed by this, Mrs. Haktak puts all her coins into the pot and they repeatedly double! When Mr. Haktak comes back from the village, he finds that Mrs. Haktak fell into the pot and now there were two of her! In shock, Mr. Haktak falls into the pot making two of him as well. The old and new Haktaks became best friends and they make two of everything!

Video #1: For a more in depth understanding of the books, we have provided a video retelling an in-class story. Each pass through the text or illustrations allows students to dive deeper into the story’s meaning, preparing them for more complex narratives down the road.

Video #2 & Worksheet: Parents may print the worksheet corresponding to the story. In the second video, Ms Liann will guide students through completing the worksheet.
