Video Summary

This book is about a boy who leaves his math homework to the very last minute! While the boy is doing his homework, a monster appears and offers to do it for him for a price. The boy signs a contract and goes to sleep. He gets A’s on his homework for the next two days but gets caught when he can’t solve a problem in class. The boy tells the monster but the monster points to the contract, it says, “If you don’t learn anything, do not blame me!” That night the boy does his homework by himself and ignores the monster. He will never make that mistake again!

Video Instructions

Video #1: For a more in depth understanding of the books, we have provided a video retelling an in-class story. Each pass through the text or illustrations allows students to dive deeper into the story’s meaning, preparing them for more complex narratives down the road.

Video #2 & Worksheet: Parents may print the worksheet corresponding to the story. In the second video, Ms Liann will guide students through completing the worksheet. Younger students will learn the appropriate sizes, shapes, and sounds of letters. Older students will learn the spelling of new words, helpful phonics rules, and how to write in complete sentences.
