Video Summary
The little shadow is lonely because he cannot find the person he belongs to. He tries to find his mate and stands beside a door and a chair to see if he belongs to them. When that does not work, he tries to match a duck in the pond or a snake in the grass. A wise owl tells him that he should go look where the children are. The shadow runs to the park and sees a boy sitting alone. The boy is sad because he does not have a shadow. The shadow tells him he will play with him and the two play together and head home.
Video Instructions
Video #1: For a more in depth understanding of the books, we have provided a video retelling an in-class story. Each pass through the text or illustrations allows students to dive deeper into the story’s meaning, preparing them for more complex narratives down the road.
Video #2 & Worksheet: Parents may print the worksheet corresponding to the story. In the second video, Ms Liann will guide students through completing the worksheet. Younger students will learn the appropriate sizes, shapes, and sounds of letters. Older students will learn the spelling of new words, helpful phonics rules, and how to write in complete sentences.
