Video Summary

Little Monster is getting ready for bed and takes us through his bedtime routine. First, he goes out on the porch and howls at the moon. Then he jumps into the bathtub to scrub himself clean and mom picks the bugs off his cute furry ears. He dries off with a towel and pulls on his PJs. Next, they have a snack before bed: worm juice and baked beetle bread. He brushes his fangs and flosses between. They choose a book to cuddle and read. They check under the bed, no scary children here, then he settles down for a kiss and a hug. Don’t forget the nightlight, that helps a lot! Goodnight Little Monster, with Mama nearby you’ll be safe through the night.

Video Instructions

Video #1: For a more in depth understanding of the books, we have provided a video retelling an in-class story. Each pass through the text or illustrations allows students to dive deeper into the story’s meaning, preparing them for more complex narratives down the road.

Video #2 & Worksheet: Parents may print the worksheet corresponding to the story. In the second video, Ms Liann will guide students through completing the worksheet. Younger students will learn the appropriate sizes, shapes, and sounds of letters. Older students will learn the spelling of new words, helpful phonics rules, and how to write in complete sentences.
